Welcome to your retirement benefits plan with the Municipal Employees' Retirement System of Louisiana (MERS). MERS is here to help you enroll employees, submit monthly contribution reports, and maintain employee and employer information.

The MERS Administrative Handbook provides a topic-by-topic breakdown of how to handle various retirement issues.

Employer forms are in the Forms Center. The forms on the website are updated regularly to keep up with current laws and policies. If there is a request that does not have a form, call this office to request the procedure.

If you are new to retirement benefit responsibilities call Retirement Benefits Administrator Lacey Waguespack to schedule a phone conference or meeting to provide training.

This office is available to give presentations to your employees explaining their benefits and eligibility for retirement. Call Lacey Waguespack at 225-925-4810 or 800-820-1137 to schedule a presentation.

The Retirement and Accounting staff are available Monday - Thursday, 8:00am to 4:00pm (Closed noon to 1pm) and Fridays, 8:00am - noon to answer any questions you may have concerning the retirement system.We are happy to help!

Please call our office to set up a day and time for either one of our staff to come to your office or for you to visit our office.

You will find the "MERS Administrative Handbook" online for information and procedures concerning the retirement system that can be used until formal training has been received.
