Employers seeking to participate in the Municipal Employees' Retirement System of Louisiana should contact this office at 225-925-4810 or 800-820-1137 to speak with Lacey Waguespack for more information on joining MERS. MERS has two (2) plans to choose from; Plan A members may or may not participate in Social Security and Plan B is mandated to participate in Social Security. The "Plan Description" section of this website has information on the difference between the two (2) plans.
MERS welcomes all inquiries concerning membership participation. Call this office to find out if you qualify to become a participating employer.
